SOCIAL MEDIA COMMENTS AND POSTING POLICY

 

The purpose of this site is to present matters relevant to the services, activities, issues, and/or policies of the Goochland County Sheriff’s Office. We encourage your interaction of questions, comments, or concerns, but please note that this is a limited public forum and not constantly moderated.

 

The Goochland County Sheriff’s Office reserves the right to remove material that:

 

1. contains anything obscene, vulgar or sexually explicit;

2. advocates or depicts illegal activity, or incites violence;

3. promotes, fosters or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, or any other protected classification;

4. contains personal attacks of any kind;

5. promotes private business ventures, or endorses specific products or services;

6. campaigns for public office, or promotes a political organization or candidate;

7. jeopardizes the safety of citizens, personnel, or the conduct of operations or investigations;

8. infringes on copyrights or trademarks;

9. contains computer viruses, codes, or material that may disrupt, damage or restrict the use of any computer software, hardware, or telecommunications equipment; or

10. is off topic.

 

Material covered by this policy includes not just comments, but also videos, images, and links to other sites. Goochland County Sheriff’s Office reserves the right to remove or delete any material that does not comply with this policy or applicable law. Repeated violations of this policy may result in banning or blocking the user.

 

Goochland County Sheriff’s Office also notes that material posted on this site or links created by anyone other than the Goochland County Sheriff’s Office does not necessarily reflect the opinions and position of the Goochland County Sheriff’s Office.
