AUTOMATED LICENSE PLATE RECOGNITION

(ALPR) POLICY

The Goochland County Sheriff's Office uses automated license plate readers (ALPRs) as part of its overall strategy to enhance public safety throughout the county.  These devices have been used to aid in solving crimes, locating wanted persons, locating stolen vehicles, as well as locating missing persons.  Pursuant to Virginia Code § 2.2-5517, a copy of the GCSO policy for the use of ALPRs can be viewed by clicking HERE.
